The COVID-19 pandemic has changed the global education scenario and created significant challenges for the global higher education landscape with direct impacts on higher education institutions by disrupting all aspects of the global education system to an unprecedented degree. This, in effect, has led to a need for adaptability, versatility and creativity on the part of educators including a complete rethinking and reconfiguration of the traditional classroom-oriented instructional approach to the implementation of various technology-enhanced active learning solutions, in an effort to continue the education process.
The apt and timely theme of this year's online virtual symposium reflects the way innovations in teaching and technology have provided significant opportunities for teachers, instructors and educators to explore emerging trends in technology-enhanced learning and innovative solutions to future pedagogical challenges brought about by the COVID-19 crisis.
