BU KEEP Seminar - Introducing the KEEP Platform & A Sharing on the HKBU's WASP Project

Integration of innovation and technology into teaching and learning is a global trend in nowadays education. As an inter-institutional initiative funded by the UGC, the Knowledge & Education Exchange Platform (KEEP) is a cloud-based eLearning platform developed for supporting innovative teaching and learning in higher education. KEEP provides a personalized educational portal for users to easily search, subscribe and access different education resources through the Cloud ecosystem.  After a year of development since its launch in Summer 2014, various KEEP products (KEEPCatalog, KEEPCourse, KEEPSearch, KEEPoll) as well as the Web-based Annotation & Sharing Platform (WASP) software developed by the Department of Education Studies, HKBU will be showcased in this workshop.  Participants can explore their functions through mobile devices.  For details of KEEP, please visit:


About the Speakers:

Professor Irwin King is the Associate Dean (Education) of the Engineering Faculty and Professor in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering, CUHK. He is also the Director of Rich Media and Big Data Key Laboratory at the Shenzhen Research Institute. His research interests include machine learning, social computing, Big Data, data mining, and multimedia information processing. Recently, Professor King has been an evangelist in the use of education technologies in eLearning for the betterment of teaching and learning. 


Professor Sandy LI is the Head of Department of Education Studies at Hong Kong Baptist University (HKBU).  Before joining HKBU, he served as the Deputy Director for Information Technology in Education (CITE) at the University of Hong Kong from 1998 to 2001.  Since then, he has been engaging in a wide range of research pertinent to Technology in education, which includes educational leadership and ICT implementation in schools, information literacy, computer modeling and science education, pathological internet use, social media and collaborative learning, mobile learning. etc.  He has been serving on the Steering Committee on Strategic Development of Information Technology in Education for the HKSAR government.
