General Questions

Tellus is an AI assessment platform that empowers interviewers or educators to craft customized interviews tailored to their needs. Through Tellus, interviewees can conveniently engage in interviews remotely and asynchronously. Subsequently, Tellus utilizes AI technology to analyze the video interviews and provide comprehensive assessments

Tellus was meticulously crafted with versatility in mind. Interviewers have the freedom to customize their questions according to their unique requirements. Whether it’s a recruitment interview, a presentation assignment from an educator, or a health screening interview, Tellus accommodates various interview types, ensuring suitability for various scenarios.

Yes, Tellus can handle multiple languages. Currently, we support English in the current version. However, we are excited to announce that Mandarin interviews will be supported in the next release, expanding our language capabilities to serve our diverse user base better.

At the moment, Tellus does not support smartphones or tablets. However, we are constantly exploring ways to enhance accessibility and may consider supporting these devices in future updates. Currently, Tellus is optimized for desktop and laptop use.

For Interviewees

If you receive an Interview Invitation from Tellus, the email will specify the time frame during which you can submit your interview. This time frame will include a deadline, which is the end date of the specified period. You are free to begin your interview at any time within this time frame.

Yes, you will need both a web camera and microphone to participate in the interview.

The estimated time of the interview is indicated in the invitation email. If the duration is not mentioned and you receive a link for the interview, we recommend reaching out to your interviewer for clarification. Typically, interviews on Tellus last between 10 to 15 minutes.

We aim to simulate a real-world interview experience, which involves responding to questions in the moment.  Therefore, we do not provide a preview of the questions beforehand.  This approach helps assess your ability to think on your feet and demonstrate your knowledge and skills effectively during the interview.

Your ability to retake the interview depends on the settings specified for the particular interview. You can find information regarding the maximum number of attempts allowed in your Interview Details. For instance, if the “Current Attempt” field displays 1 out of 3, this indicates that you have a maximum of 3 attempts available, and you are currently on your first attempt.

For Interviewers

For optimal interview length and candidate engagement, we recommend setting up interviews with 4-5 questions. This typically totals around 8-10 minutes, providing ample time for thoughtful responses while keeping the interview focused and efficient. Adjustments to the number of questions may be necessary based on the specific requirements and context of your interviews.

The duration of each question can vary based on its complexity. For more complex questions, we recommend setting a time limit of 2 minutes to allow candidates sufficient opportunity to provide detailed responses. Simpler questions require less time, so a time limit of 1 minute is generally sufficient. Adjustments to the time limits can be made as needed to ensure a balanced and efficient interview process.

If you’ve already created your interview on Tellus, you can find your interview in “Manage Interview”, and click on the “Edit” button under the “Action” column.  You will be presented with six tabs.  Go to the “Interviewees” tab, and click “Add” to add your interviewees by typing their email address.  If you haven’t created an interview, you can create one by clicking on the “Create” button, and you will see the “Interviewees” tab after going through the steps to create an interview.

Yes, you can import a list of interviewees’ email addresses by uploading an Excel file by using the “Import” button on the “Interviewees” tab.  Your .xlsx file should have the first row labeled “Email”, and then list the email addresses of the interviewees starting from the second row. This process allows for convenient and efficient bulk invitations of interviewees to your interviews.

In the ‘Interviewee’ tab, simply click on the ‘Copy Link’ button. This action will direct you to a screen where you can easily copy the link and share it with your interviewees. If the ‘Allow unregistered users to join’ option is disabled, your interviewees will be prompted to create an account on Tellus. This feature is particularly helpful if you wish for your interviewees to access and review their interview results on the Tellus platform. Conversely, if the ‘Allow unregistered users to join’ option is enabled, it grants users the ability to sign in as a guest.
