PALMS Virtual Symposium 2021 - Navigating the Rapidly Evolving Higher Education Landscape with Technology Enhanced Active Learning Pedagogies
The COVID-19 pandemic has changed the global education scenario and created significant challenges for the global higher education landscape with direct impacts on higher education institutions by disrupting all aspects of the global education system to an unprecedented degree. This, in effect, has led to a need for adaptability, versatility and creativity on the part of educators including a complete rethinking and reconfiguration of the traditional classroom-oriented instructional approach to the implementation of various technology-enhanced active learning solutions, in an effort to continue the education process.

The apt and timely theme of this year's online virtual symposium reflects the way innovations in teaching and technology have provided significant opportunities for teachers, instructors and educators to explore emerging trends in technology-enhanced learning and innovative solutions to future pedagogical challenges brought about by the COVID-19 crisis. International Conference on Learning and Teaching 2020
The Conference (ICLT2020) is organised by the Centre for Learning, Teaching and Technology (LTTC), and will be held completely online from 2 to 4 December 2020. It will provide an interactive platform for academics, researchers, practitioners and professionals in the education sector to share innovative learning and teaching approaches in higher education, and exchange of good practices in learning and teaching in school education.

The theme of the Conference is “Learning and Teaching in the 21st Century”, which will comprise keynote speeches, symposium, doctoral consortium, and paper and poster presentations. The ICLT2020 welcomes submission of abstracts based on 4 main conference strands: (1) STEM Education, (2) Teacher Education and Development, (3) Interdisciplinary Studies focus on Education for Sustainable Development and (4) Learning and Teaching in the 21st Century.

CUHK Jockey Club AI for the Future Project
CUHK Jockey Club AI for the Future Project Announcement Cum Secondary School Think and Create Competition 2020 Awards Presentation Ceremony
The Faculty of Engineering and the Faculty of Education of The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) has launched a three-year artificial intelligence (AI) education project, entitled the CUHK Jockey Club AI for the Future Project (“the Project”), with generous funding from The Hong Kong Jockey Club Charities Trust (the Trust). The Project aims to develop a novel AI curriculum, as well as create a supporting infrastructure and ecosystem for sustainable AI education at junior school level in Hong Kong.

The Project is now organizing the “Project Announcement Cum Secondary School Think and Create Competition 2020 Awards Presentation Ceremony” via Zoom. The Ceremony will showcase the progress made by the Project so far as well as to present awards to the winners of the Competition. The Hon Kevin YEUNG Yun-hung, JP, Secretary for Education of HKSAR, Professor Isabella POON Wai-yin, Pro-Vice-Chancellor of CUHK, and Mr Leong CHEUNG, Executive Director of Charities and Community of the Trust will be the guests of honour and deliver speeches at the Ceremony.
